The Owner

I was born in the Caribbean on the beautiful island of Barbados. From a young age, I was captivated by the world of business. My journey started with cake icing for weddings and birthdays, which eventually led to buying ice cream in bulk and selling it in cones, becoming the highlight of my early ventures. This initial success pushed me into baking bread and cakes and then into cooking and selling. Simultaneously, I was also involved in sewing clothing, supplying boutiques, sewing bridesmaids’ dresses, and crafting church attire.

As my business expanded, I ventured into selling school supplies. I had extra space in my home, so I often accommodated vacationers for free. I would cater for my church events, and sometimes even for great cricketers, not realizing that this was a special gift. Over time, I became a missionary, traveling to places like St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Haiti, Costa Rica, and more. My heart was drawn to helping orphanages, which led to a focus on providing education to those less fortunate who couldn’t access a traditional classroom. Simultaneously, I continued to assist those who could travel by providing a place to rest.

All of these experiences have made me a person of many talents. Beyond being a business owner, I also serve as a pastor of a Christian church in the Bronx, NY.

The Owner’s Message

“In 2019, I was at a crossroads when I had to close my restaurant due to slow business. My daycare business was also suffering because of the introduction of free childcare services. I was stuck with a substantial mortgage and tenants who either couldn’t or wouldn’t pay their rent. The mortgage company was calling, threatening foreclosure. In a moment of reflection, inspired by the question, “What do you have in your hands?” after praying and fasting, I decided to do some research and joined both HomeAway and Airbnb. Thanks to numerous referrals, I eventually took the step to advertise independently.

I’ve always had a passion for hosting people to share conversations, laughter, pains, and concerns. Many of my guests return year after year, and I eagerly anticipate their visits. While offering this service, I’ve had the opportunity to encourage people to explore the city, especially Brooklyn, contribute to the local economy, and learn about other countries and the States of America.”
